Kualoa Anthurium Classic Studs

$88.00

My grandfather (my father's father) was an athurium farmer on the Ko'olau side of Oahu in the area that is now Chinamen's Hat beach or Kualoa Beach Park. He was known as the "King of the Anthuriums" to those who knew of his hearty, large anthuriums that he sold on the side of the road and to the hotels in Waikiki. So years later, when my father carved this original Anthurium flower out of jewelry wax and then cast it into solid sterling silver or solid 14k gold, I immediately fell in love with the clean lines and sleek take on the heart-shaped flower that had roots with my family. The anthurium has always been the flower of my family and I love the heart-shaped bloom that is strong, simple, sleek and bold.

It has been a long-time coming, but I have re-worked my father's anthurium so now there is a "right" and "left" so it can be earrings (not just a pendant as he originally intended). I love this 1" heart-shaped flower as a stud earring because it frames the face perfectly and almost caresses your face as it curves toward you gently. Choose solid sterling silver (including sterling silver posts and backings) or 14k gold dipped over Sterling (known as "gold vermeil). There is over 2.5microns of 14k gold to last and last. Posts and backings of the gold Anthuriums is 14k goldfill.
